The 2026–27 Academic Calendar outlines the key teaching, assessment and vacation dates for the University’s commissioning year. It has been prepared in alignment with the University of York in the UK and is intended to help students plan their studies throughout the academic year.

Key Highlights

The Academic Calendar has been prepared in alignment with the University of York, UK, for the commissioning year of the University of York Mumbai.
Teaching is delivered across two semesters, with Semester 2 including reassessments, postgraduate summer teaching and end-of-year academic activities.
PG programmes will have Summer semester in addition to two semesters. The PG semesters may be re-aligned to suit internship or work based learning opportunities.
Attendance requirements are clearly indicated for each academic activity to help you plan your time on campus throughout the year.
All dates are subject to change in line with future academic structures adopted by the University of York or for administrative reasons. Any updates will be communicated through official University channels.

University closure days and bank holidays

The University of York Mumbai observes designated university closure days, semester breaks and recognised public holidays during the academic year. These dates are separate from scheduled teaching, revision and assessment periods.

The final list of university closure days and public holidays for the 2026–27 academic year will be communicated through official University channels and may be updated in accordance with the notifications of the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra.
