Programme Structure
The MSc Artificial Intelligence at the University of York Mumbai is a focused, full-time program that equips graduates with advanced technical skills and real-world AI fluency. This intensive one-year program combines advanced technical training with real-world relevance. You will explore machine learning, large language models, and natural language processing, and apply your knowledge to build intelligent, scalable, and ethical AI systems.
The programme comprises 120 credits of core modules, with students then able to take three optional modules (3 x 20 credits).

Research project
As part of your masterʼs degree, you will undertake a major independent research project
beginning in April. Under the supervision of a faculty mentor, you will develop, test, and
evaluate an original idea within a chosen area of artificial intelligence. Throughout the
summer term, youʼll participate in one-to-one meetings and group discussions with your
supervisor and peers to refine your research design and methodology.
The project culminates in a dissertation of up to 8,000 words, where youʼll present your
findings with analytical precision and academic rigour. This experience strengthens your
research, programming, and critical-thinking skills while preparing you for professional or
doctoral-level work. Please note that the availability, topics, supervision, and structure are
