Programme Structure
The programme is structured to give you a strong foundation in the creative industries while allowing increasing focus on your interests as you progress. Youʼll start by gaining an understanding of the creative industries while exploring your own ideas, before developing the business skills needed to succeed in this sector. The course culminates in a final project that highlights your individual creativity and expertise.
Year 1
In your first year, youʼll explore how the creative industries are structured and operate, while developing and experimenting with your own creative ideas. Youʼll examine the nature of creativity and discover how leadership, vision, and ambition drive success across film, television, theatre, games, music, and interactive media.
Year 1 comprises 120 credits of core modules.

- Introduction to Screen Production Methods (20 credits)
- Business for Screen (20 credits)
- Business for Performance (20 credits)
- Content Development (20 credits)
Year 2
Your second year will be focused on the business side of things while still allowing some scope for creative endeavours. Youʼll study four core modules that develop advanced business skills for the creative industries. These cover branding and marketing, legal issues and intellectual property, financing innovative creative work, strategic thinking to help creativity thrive, and project management skills to bring ideas to life.
Year 2 comprises 80 credits of core modules, with students then able to take two optional modules 2 x 20 credits).
In addition, youʼll choose two option modules, allowing you to explore your own interests.

Year 3
In your final year, youʼll develop your own individual project with dedicated one-to-one supervision. This project will reflect your interests or ambitions and could include producing a business portfolio, creating a screen, stage, or interactive project, or completing a research-based dissertation.
Youʼll also take part in an industry-focused Group Project, applying your creativity to real-world challenges and developing collaborative solutions under the guidance of academic and industry mentors. In addition, youʼll deepen your specialised knowledge by choosing two option modules.
Year 3 comprises 80 credits of core modules, with students then able to take two optional modules 2 x 20 credits).
